Our Apprentice Opportunity

Responsibilities
  • Design, manufacture and maintain materials for seats, curtains, flooring on Traveltrain and Citytrain carriages
  • Source trimming supplies and liaise with Rollingstock and Component Services group to supply trimmed componentry
  • Maintain trimming shop tools and equipment
  • Broaden experience with a short-term rotation contributing to the L-Series refurbishment program in Rockhampton, or be part of the Kuranda Scenic Railway upgrade in Portsmith, Cairns
Qualifications and Attributes
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail, crucial for precise cuts and neat finishes
  • Good spatial awareness for fitting materials
  • Willingness to learn safety standards and regulations
  • Ability to follow a roster that may include nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions with a commitment to safety at all times
