Strait Link is the essential freight connection across Bass Strait – and we're growing. As part of our expansion, we're looking for a driven and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our Indirect Sales team. This is your chance to help us grow our reach, unlock new trade flows, and deepen relationships with freight forwarders, agents and other channel partners.
What you'll do:
In this Hobart-based role you'll be responsible for:
- Building and managing a portfolio of indirect customer accounts, with a focus on growth, retention and margin.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities across key freight corridors.
- Collaborating with commercial, operational and customer service teams to deliver solutions that create value for our partners and customers.
- Delivering account plans, forecasts and performance reporting in line with commercial targets.
- Representing Strait Link in market with credibility, agility and a clear customer-first mindset.
What you'll bring:
You'll thrive in this role if you bring:
- A strong background in B2B sales, ideally in logistics, transport or supply chain.
- The ability to build trusted commercial relationships and turn insight into action.
- Proven success in business development or account management, with a results-driven approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and a passion for delivering customer value.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding or agency-based sales models (highly regarded).
