Overview
An opportunity to establish and implement a vision and strategic direction to shape the future of Shellharbour City, supported by a team of professionals in planning and environment.
Responsibilities- Lead the City's strategic planning and environment functions to deliver the community's long‑term vision.
- Deliver high profile, best practice planning and design initiatives to leverage growth and investment in infrastructure.
- Lead a large, multi‑disciplinary team to establish and implement a strategic framework for sustainable growth and development that reflects Shellharbour's unique characteristics and community needs.
- Develop and implement Council's long‑term land use planning framework and environmental management programs, contributing to operational and community net zero emissions targets.
- As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, manage reports and submissions to Council and oversee policy, compliance and budget items across the group.
- Publicly advocate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including the CEO, Councillors, the community, industry and Government to achieve strategic outcomes.
- You will be a passionate, collaborative leader who can work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to integrate strategic and operational planning across the business.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive industry experience to champion environmental outcomes that are pragmatic and sustainable.
- Ability to balance outcomes and process to ensure objectives are met in a repeatable and accountable fashion.
- Drive a culture of collaboration and service excellence to benefit the community, environment and long‑term transformation of the City.
