- Note: Part-time maternity relief position; if the permanent incumbent returns from maternity leave early, this contract will cease with two weeks' notice. Maternity relief positions can be for up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for reduced hours; there are no permanency claims.
Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist within the Transitional Aged Care Program, you will deliver client-centred care that supports older people in achieving their goals for recovery, independence, and quality of life. Working closely with clients, their families and carers, as well as the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical assessment, intervention, and professional advice in line with best practice and departmental guidelines.
- Provide evidence-based care and exercise sound professional judgment in clinical decision-making, with support from senior clinicians as required.
- Support mobility, falls prevention, pain management, and functional recovery for clients in both community and residential settings.
- Actively participate in ongoing professional development, supervision, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance client outcomes and service delivery.
- Contribute to the professional network of your discipline, while engaging in opportunities for education, training, and clinical research activities.
- Promote collaboration within the multidisciplinary team and liaise with CCLHD and government agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive, coordinated care.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Current Occupational Therapy registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated understanding of aged care needs, including mobility support, falls prevention strategies, pain management, and functional recovery.
- Ability to work across sites within the CCLHD
