The successful candidate will possess the technical skills to manage research projects end-to-end, initially focusing on fulfilling large reporting requirements and further developing research design capabilities.

We are inviting applications for a Research Manager in Melbourne to support growth with new high-profile clients and recent wins. This role is key to building our research capabilities and delivering insights that shape the future of sports and entertainment marketing.

The Role

Within the Integrated Marketing team, responsible for understanding fans, assessing value, and measuring impact.

As Research Manager, you will be a technical expert, leading research projects, including large-scale accounts, and helping build a scalable research pillar for local and global growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing research and reporting projects, including questionnaire design, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.
• Deliver insights to inform strategy, brand growth, and audience engagement.
• Support RFPs and solution design, identifying appropriate research methodologies.
• Work with multiple data sources to generate actionable recommendations.
• Manage relationships with external data providers and internal stakeholders.
• Interpret data and prepare reports communicating high-quality findings.
• Contribute to the development of MKTG's global sports and analytics toolkit.
• Enhance product solutions and frameworks integrating research and insights.
• Create training materials for internal staff and departments.
• Foster relationships with external suppliers and stakeholders.

About You

• 5+ years in quantitative research, preferably in sports, entertainment, or media.
• Strong skills in research design, analysis, and reporting.
• Proficient in tools like SPSS and survey platforms.
• Experience with syndicated data and secondary sources.
• Passion for sports and entertainment, with a collaborative approach.
• Comfortable as a subject matter expert and building new capabilities.
• Adaptable and interested in emerging trends and technologies.
• Experience from agencies like Kantar or Nielsen is a plus.
