Your Role

Looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference in people's lives? As a Support Centre Coordinator, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of a Vinnies Support Centre, a welcoming space that provides essential assistance, referral services and community connection to people doing it tough. This is a leadership role where you'll guide volunteers, support clients with complex needs and work alongside community partners to deliver meaningful impact. This is a 6 month contract position at SCHADS award level 4.1.

Your Responsibility
  • Lead the daily operations of the Support Centre, ensuring high-quality client services.
  • Manage and support a team of volunteers and staff, fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Coordinate emergency relief activities including food pantry, vouchers, and referrals.
  • Work directly with clients, assessing needs, offering support and connecting them to appropriate services.
  • Build strong community partnerships with local organisations, government services, and healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, and financial assistance policies.
  • Report on centre activities and contribute to strategic and operational planning.
You Will Need
  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, welfare, psychology, education or a related field.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged communities and strong assessment skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing volunteers and delivering training.
  • Computer literacy and effective time management skills.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence.
