Reporting directly to the Residential Manager at Lewisham Nursing Home, you will maintaining a physically safe, well maintained and secure home environment for our residents. Within this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Executing the preventative maintenance program throughout the residential aged care home
  • Performing reactive repairs on items within the home as the need arises
  • Managing the coordination of external maintenance contractors as required
  • Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you'll need

  • A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
  • Trade certificate or Cert IV in Maintenance/Building services
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Hands-on experience with building maintenance, handyman or building services role
  • Strong understanding of the practical application of workplace health and safety legislation
  • Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
  • Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents
  • Willingness to apply for a Police Check and NDIS clearance
