The role will see you responsible for
  • Providing advice and medical expertise and guidance to the claims team to assist them in their decision making
  • Using medical evidence and knowledge to train, coach and develop claims teams to increase their medical knowledge
  • Taking complex medical information and explaining it to the claims team in easy to understand terminology
  • Reading and Assessing claimants GP reports to recommend potential support for claimants
  • Project work including reviewing and developing the insurers medical guidelines in relation to claims management
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate
  • A medical degree and current AHPRA registration
  • A broad knowledge on medical conditions that might impact a claimants ability to work and potential treatment options
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to break down complex medical information into an easy to understand format
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to write/review and develop guidelines
  • A passion for developing others and ability to coach/train and develop non medical claims teams with knowledge
