Job Overview
This role provides expert medical advice and guidance to support the implementation of medical policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team with authority and competence, including motivation, cohesion, and shaping workplace culture.
- Develop and oversee medical staff training processes, quality assurance, and research activities.
- Supervise staff, including robust performance management, and liaison with contractors on workforce development and personnel issues.
Additional Duties:
- Exercise professional delegations as outlined in relevant APS and Defence policy, including occupational medical fitness determinations, waiver assessments, reviews of decisions, and funding approvals.
- Provide quality advice to senior staff, preparing briefing material, correspondence, and reports on relevant policy, governance, and performance initiatives.
- Establish and review governance, standards, and procedures for medical recruiting services operations, conducting audit and quality assurance activities when required.
- Identify and manage risk, recommending courses of action to senior officers.
