Summary

We are a established education / investment company seeking a technically proficient and business-savvy IT Manager to lead and shape our technology operations and strategy. This is a hands-on executive role that requires deep technical expertise, strong management capabilities, and the ability to handle both strategic technology decisions and day-to-day operational responsibilities

Responsibilities

Technical Operations & Development
  • Hands-on AWS Infrastructure Management:
  • Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud architecture
  • Manage EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and other AWS services
  • Implement cost optimization strategies and monitor AWS spending
  • Ensure security, scalability, and high availability of cloud infrastructure
  • Hands-on Node.js & React Ecosystem Full-stack Leadership and implementation:
  • Provide technical guidance on nodejs backend architecture and best practices
  • Oversee React frontend development and modern JavaScript practices
  • Drive code quality standards, testing frameworks, and development workflows
  • Domain & DNS Operations (Critical Requirement):
  • Hands-on domain management including registration, renewal, and transfer processes
  • Configure and troubleshoot DNS records, routing, and propagation
  • Implement DNS security measures and monitoring
  • Manage SSL certificate deployment and renewal processes

Development Operations & Project Management
  • Git Flow Control & Version Management:
  • Implement and enforce Git branching strategies (Git Flow, GitHub Flow)
  • Manage code review processes and merge request workflows
  • Establish repository structure and access controls
  • Handle complex merge conflicts and release management
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management:
  • Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration/deployment pipelines
  • Automate testing, building, and deployment processes
  • Configure deployment environments (staging, production) and rollback
  • procedures
  • Integrate quality gates and automated testing into CI/CD workflows

Project Management Excellence
  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies effectively
  • Coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Track project progress and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies

Team Leadership & Project Execution

Lead Existing Project Progression
  • Take ownership of ongoing development projects and drive them to completion
  • Assess current project status, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions
  • Establish clear project milestones, timelines, and deliverable expectations
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and success
  • Implement agile methodologies and sprint planning for efficient project delivery
  • Build, mentor, and lead development teams (onshore and offshore)

Stakeholder Communication
  • Present technology initiatives and progress to executive leadership
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and alignment
  • Provide regular technology updates and risk assessments to board/investors

Foster collaborative team culture and continuous improvement mindset

Establish performance metrics and development processes

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive technology leadership experience
  • Proven experience as CTO or senior technical leadership role
  • Experience managing technology budgets and operational expenses
