The Role

An established residential investment builder based on Brisbane's Northside is seeking an experienced Drafting Manager to lead its in-house drafting team. This full-time, office-based role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with strong Revit skills and leadership experience to step into a pivotal position within a growing company.

The Drafting Manager will be responsible for overseeing a small team of 2-3 drafters, ensuring the delivery of accurate and compliant construction documentation while supporting project efficiency and internal coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a drafting team, providing technical guidance and support.

  • Oversee the preparation and review of high-quality construction drawings using Revit.

  • Ensure all documentation meets compliance requirements, developer guidelines, and internal standards.

  • Coordinate with other departments including estimating, construction, and sales to align drawings with project specifications.

  • Monitor workloads, set priorities, and ensure drafting deadlines are consistently met.

  • Liaise with external consultants such as engineers and certifiers when required.

  • Implement and maintain drafting standards and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in residential drafting, with a strong portfolio of work.

  • Proficient in Revit, with demonstrated experience producing full construction documentation.

  • Previous leadership experience, managing or mentoring drafting staff.

  • Solid understanding of the National Construction Code, local council regulations, and residential construction practices.

  • High attention to detail with excellent time management and communication skills.

  • Experience working with an investment or volume builder will be highly regarded.
