What You Can Expect

As the Area Sales Manager, reporting to the State Sales Manager, Queensland, you will be responsible for maximizing sales revenue through your team within an assigned region. You will coach and develop your sales team, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to business planning and analysis. You will report regularly on results and progress, and help set and monitor performance goals for Sales Representatives.

How You'll Create ImpactPeople Management
  • Coordinate and direct the sales team to achieve targets such as team sales, individual territory goals, and incentives.
  • Monitor performance objectives regularly in line with corporate timelines.
  • Coach, motivate, and appraise sales representatives to optimize performance.
  • Develop performance objectives and career development plans for team members.
  • Recruit qualified personnel to fill vacancies promptly.
Sales Management
  • Analyze sales results by product, territory, and segment; review trends with the team and leadership.
  • Distribute sales reports and customer insights to relevant team members.
  • Liaise with customers, operations, and sales teams to ensure excellent service.
  • Identify new business opportunities through customer and market analysis.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop sales initiatives and uncover opportunities.
  • Participate in product training to stay current with industry practices.
Administration
  • Complete required reports, including expense reports and sales forecasts.
  • Coordinate meetings and external events like trade displays.
  • Source materials for team training and motivation.
  • Manage promotional and expense budgets effectively.
  • Coordinate distribution of samples, literature, and promotional materials with relevant departments.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Paramedical disciplines, Nursing, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in medical device sales, particularly Orthopaedics, Capital Equipment, or Diagnostics.
  • At least 5 years' experience managing sales teams.
  • Proven sales success and ability to sell to medical professionals.
Travel Expectations
  • Significant travel within the sales region (up to 95%).
  • Occasional domestic (quarterly) and international (annually) travel.
