Title: Lead Software & AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid-based role in Sydney with a blend of working from home, our DiUS office and on-site with clients.

This is not a dedicated AI engineering role. This role will cut across a range of digital capabilities, while increasingly factoring in AI powered engineering practices.

You'll be partnering with our clients to lead the design, build and delivery of bespoke products and solutions, getting the most of their technology landscape, and leaving them in a better place. This role is not just about systems and coding - it's about asking the right questions, understanding the problem and need, thinking outside the box to scope and shape the work, having good agile and clean code practices, developing strong relationships and collaborating on the bigger picture.

You will be hands on the tools, leading small projects & teams, and ultimately driving project delivery and outcomes.

We have a powerful ability to figure out the best path forward for each of our clients by drawing upon our broad range of deep and specialist capabilities: software engineering, experience design, data and analytics, machine learning and AI.

You will have a background as a full stack software engineer, and while you have been developing AI solutions more recently, you are keen to stay across a range of different tech solutions. You will have breadth across various back end, front end and cloud platforms and adaptable to different client needs - one project might need you to build an LLM, and the next project might need you to design a new system and platform features. Whether you've worked in professional services before, or have experience working across projects, you are a natural consultant who loves to understand problems, come up with solutions, and find the pathway forward.

• Full-stack software engineer with 8+ years of experience in various back end and front end tech languages such as: Typescript/JavaScript, Node, C#, .net, Kotlin, Python, React, Angular, Vue, React native, flutter
• Purposeful design and implementation of software solutions (yes, from scratch)
• Experience developing and/or deploying AI solutions such as LLMs, RAG, Agentic frameworks
• Commercial experience deploying code into the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Solid level of proficiency in modern architectural practices
• Demonstrates autonomy and proficiency in code practices such as TCC and CI/CD
• Good understanding of Agile, understanding its purpose, value and common practices, able to shape and track a backlog pertaining to related tasks

• Leading projects (end to end), collaborating with clients to understand and refine requirements, shaping project milestones and delivery outcomes
• Supporting pre-sales efforts - joining client meetings to understand requirements, working alongside internal stakeholders to identify solutions and participate in proposal and client estimations
• Able to problem solve and identify purposeful solutions, factoring in how to integrate into a wider solution/system
• Able to navigate a range of client environments and adapt to different paces, from the complexity of a large enterprise or influencing in a fast-paced start-up
• Excellent presentation & communication skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to different team needs and paces
• Can navigate through ambiguity and find a way forward
• Collaborate across teams and at all levels of an organisation
• Able to efficiently self manage and coordinate / prioritise tasks and workload
