What you will do

We're looking for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. You'll help people gain more independence in daily life, while working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people. In Folkestone, you'll work within a supported living service that is welcoming and varied; no two days are the same. You'll help enhance lives by teaching life skills, assisting with minimal personal care, encouraging community access, socialising and participating in activities. Activities may include time in local bars and pubs, or quieter activities like video games, films or cinema visits.

Responsibilities
  • Support individuals to increase independence and participate in daily living activities
  • Assist with minimal personal care where required
  • Encourage engagement with local communities and social activities
  • Support individuals with life skills development and recreational activities
  • Promote safety and wellbeing in a supportive environment
  • Follow Positive Behaviour Support plans and engage in reflective practice
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Resilient, flexible and composed approach
  • Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice
  • Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma
  • Ability to support individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours
