As a Clinical Nurse, you will plan, perform, facilitate, and evaluate the delivery of patient care while maintaining a safe nursing practice and effective working environment. You will be at the forefront of coordinating a multidisciplinary approach to client care, participating in Quality Improvement activities, and providing education to both patients and colleagues. You may also take on the role of shift coordinator and relieve the Clinical Manager as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Extensive post-registration experience in a clinical nursing setting.
- Advanced skills and knowledge in surgical nursing.
- Proven experience in Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Well-developed communication skills that foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Current understanding of legislative requirements related to Equality, Disability Services, and Workplace Health and Safety.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or progress towards one is an advantage.
- Planning and delivering high-quality patient care in line with best practice initiatives.
- Participating in and leading Quality Improvement activities aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
- Acting as a clinical resource and role model for registered and enrolled nurses.
- Assisting the Clinical Manager with the implementation of policies and procedures.
- Advocating for patients and promoting health education to patients and their families.

This position is located at the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. Kalgoorlie is Australia's largest Outback city where mining, history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq. km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent. The region supports a wide range of industry, including mining, agriculture, aquaculture, and tourism. Subsequent Vacancies
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service.
