DUTIES

The Manager, Publications provides high-level publishing and editorial expertise to various teams. The main focus is to publish research reports and related documents across channels to support communication and extension outputs.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Modelting AgriFutures Australia's values.
  2. Managing a streamlined publishing process ensuring high-quality digital outputs with governance and quality assurance.
  3. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Interacting daily with Program Managers, Communications Managers, researchers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Overseeing the publishing workflow for reports, summaries, and fact sheets.
  6. Reviewing and editing outputs for style, grammar, and formatting.
  7. Managing outsourcing of editing and design work, including quality checks.
  8. Publishing final reports across channels, including website, cataloging, printing, and archiving.
  9. Managing print-on-demand services and handling publication inquiries.
  10. Developing templates for review and feedback processes.
  11. Training stakeholders on publication development and delivery.
  12. Monitoring workflow delivery and stakeholder interactions.
  13. Securing reliable external contractors and providers.
  14. Maintaining records management for publications.
  15. Performing other duties as required.
Experience / Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in writing/communications or equivalent experience with 5+ years in editorial/publishing.
  • Proficiency in editing, formatting, and proofreading.
  • Experience in digital publishing and managing contractors.
  • Ability to develop client relationships and manage quality systems.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing/webinar tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite skills are preferred.
