As an OO4 Ranger at Paluma Range National Park, you'll support the Ranger-in-Charge in delivering a diverse and impactful work program. This position requires you to assist the Ranger in Charge with strong leadership, communication, people management, and cultural diversity skills and experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with park infrastructure maintenance, managing budgets and capital works programs, overseeing team dynamics, staff development, and training, and delivering high-quality administration and reporting functions.
- Carrying out park management duties including plant operation, resource management, project management, fire management, weed and pest control, and infrastructure development.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of annual work programs for recreation and infrastructure, including resource allocation within limited budgets.
- Performing compliance and enforcement tasks, assisting with investigations, and ensuring permit compliance.
- Engaging with the public through enquiries, advice, patrols, and stakeholder liaison.
- Following emergency response procedures for natural disasters, wildfires, search and rescue, and medical emergencies.
- Supervising staff, students, and volunteers, and implementing workplace health and safety, performance management, and EEO principles.
- Undertaking administrative duties such as maintaining records and procurement.
- Promoting a workplace culture that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and contributes to better outcomes for First Nations Australians.
