As a Senior Park Ranger, you will lead the development of annual, monthly, and weekly work plans to protect, promote, and enhance biodiversity and ecological processes within Banyule's reserves. You will collaborate with the community on restoration and maintenance activities throughout the year.

What You'll Do

  • Lead planning to protect and enhance biodiversity sites, working with Environmental Friends Groups and volunteers.
  • Manage diverse ecosystems in an urban environment, addressing threats to conservation.
  • Plan and oversee activities such as weed control, direct seeding, ecological burning, and flora and fauna monitoring.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate community events.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely for environmental works.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.

What You'll Bring / What We Are Looking For

  • Diploma in Natural Resource Management or related field; minimum four years' industry experience.
  • Knowledge of local flora and weed species.
  • Experience with urban revegetation and regeneration projects.
  • Knowledge of weed management practices, including chemical and manual control.
  • Leadership skills to supervise staff and community groups.

  • Agricultural Chemical Users Certificate

  • Salary: $70,625.38 per annum plus superannuation (full-time equivalent $79,354.37).
  • Part-time, permanent position (33.76 hours/week), with flexible working arrangements.
