Chief People Officer @ Built Environment Collective | HR Leader

Built Environment Collective (BEC) is an Australian-based multi-discipline Engineering & Project Management Design Consultancy. We work across a range of market sectors and project types, both domestically and internationally. We prioritise strong client relationships, a collaborative approach to project delivery, work-life balance, and continuous professional development.

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Brisbane. This role involves performing detailed structural design and analysis, preparing design documents, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and other multi-disciplinary engineering professionals to ensure the structural integrity and safety of designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural designs and perform detailed calculations to standards and specifications
  • Conduct structural analysis using software and hand calculations to ensure designs meet safety and performance requirements
  • Analyse the impact of loads, stresses and other factors on structures
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success
  • Provide technical advice to construction teams during the construction phase
  • Conduct site visits as required to ensure construction is in accordance with design specifications and standards
  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state and federal regulations
  • Stay up to date on industry standards and building codes
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings and documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in structural engineering primarily with building structures
  • Strong knowledge and application of Australian and International Standards
  • Experience with design software such as Spacegass
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
