L&R consults to private, corporate, and government bodies in both local and interstate markets and has established an enviable reputation for quality service. An opportunity currently exists to join the Structures division within our Brisbane office.

An opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer exists to join our team in Brisbane working with experienced engineers and draftspersons. This position has arisen primarily to provide support to our Structures Team in the delivery of engineering reports. You will have responsibility for the delivery of these structural reports and then, when required, associated design solutions and documentation for our long-term clients.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will also be expected to:

  • Participate in, lead, and deliver structural projects.
  • Work closely with clients through continual liaison from conception to completion.
  • Successfully liaise with other consultants, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Be proficient in structural design of local projects and have excellent knowledge and understanding of Australian Codes and Standards.
  • Have a solid understanding of industry-standard design software packages and other computer software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Manage projects using cloud-based project management systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications, write reports, and provide technical engineering support/advice.
  • Ensure that all designs and documentation meet high standards.
  • Prepare fee proposals and assist the management team on financial and company issues.
  • Mentor other staff members.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within a consulting capacity with RPEQ status.
  • Highly developed communication ability, and demonstrated ability to liaise with external clients.
  • Excellent forensic engineering credentials and report writing skills.
  • Ambition to continue to grow and develop.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
