This is your chance to be a pivotal leader in our high-achieving institution. We're offering a part-time temporary position at 0.80 FTE and 40 hours per fortnight, from 14 July 2025 until 12 December 2025 unless otherwise determined. James Nash State High School is located in the Wide Bay Region of Queensland and is serviced by Education Queensland's North Coast region. Our school serves the communities of Glenwood, Kilkivan, Amamoor, and Gympie. We have a diverse student body connected to rural values. Established in 1977, our school has a current enrollment of 1300 students, expected to grow to nearly 1400 by 2025.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for implementing measures to improve student learning outcomes and attendance, especially in schools with disadvantaged students, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all.
  • Prepare all data returns for the Principal as requested.
  • Manage and develop engagement strategies, including induction activities for new arrivals, and advise on their academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Monitor students' performance and behavior, developing intervention strategies where necessary.
