Mental Health Support Worker in Wollongong
Join our team in Wollongong for the Mental Health Support Worker role at Illawarra Mercury.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality support and care to individuals with mental health diagnoses.
- Assist participants in daily living activities and promote their independence.
- Implement personalized care plans and support strategies.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Must have excellent English communication and verbal skills.
- Experience with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, paranoia and complex behaviours (highly desirable).
- Valid driver's license and own transport
- NDIS Clearance
- Strong mental health experience
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Police check
- COVID-19 vaccination
- Completion of NDIS Orientation Modules
- Infection control training
- Mental Health1st aid (Desirable)
- Mental Health Cert – (Desirable)
- Ongoing weekly rostered shifts with great hours and weekend/night shifts
- Supportive and inclusive work environment

- Make a meaningful difference in the community
