About The Role

The Child Safety Lead Practitioner provides expert leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based child safety services. The role is responsible for building practice capability within the specific service delivery context.

Working closely with regional service delivery managers, the Lead Practitioner ensures the localised implementation of practice improvement initiatives that align with best-practice standards. The role drives and supports change, continuous learning, and service enhancement to improve outcomes for children and families in regional settings. This position operates under the guidance of the Principal Practitioner.

Additionally, the role contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional practice frameworks, policy, governance, and practice review processes within regional service delivery contexts.

This role is working in the Office of the Chief Practitioner.

Period of Appointment

Ongoing - ASAP start date

Hours per fortnight

76 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1 Conviction Checks In The Following Areas
  • crimes of violence
  • sex related offences
  • serious drug offences
  • crimes involving dishonesty
  • serious traffic offences

2 Identification check

3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications in child protection, leadership, or practice development is highly desirable
  • Current Driver's Licence
