Mary Mackillop Place is seeking an experienced HR/Payroll Specialist to manage and complete our fortnightly payroll function as well as provide HR support.

Mary Mackillop Place (MMP) is a not-for-profit organization offering accommodation, a conference center, Café, Gift Shop, Museum, and Chapel on site. Located in the heart of North Sydney, MMP offers a range of services to businesses and guests with hospitality, always at the forefront.

We are seeking an experienced, part-time Payroll and HR Specialist to manage and own the fortnightly pay run across the facility. Working under the Hospitality Award, and with systems such as Deputy and MYOB, this position is pivotal in ensuring seamless employee experience through knowledgeable payroll and HR support to our diverse organization. You will be responsible for end to end payroll support, including payments to salaried, hourly rate and casual employees; manage timesheets and leave requests for rostered employees; process new starters, employee changes and employee exits; calculate and manage legislative payments and changes, including Superannuation and Tax; reporting and ensuring internal procedures and records are accurate and maintained; provide HR support and manage employee files, including drafting correspondence and documentation, recruitment, and compliance checks.

Working closely with the GM and Finance Officer, this position will work 2.5 days per week and have a high level of autonomy, providing specialist advice and guidance to the management team as needed.

A bit about you:

  1. At least 4 years' experience in payroll processing
  2. Experience using Deputy and MYOB
  3. Experience or exposure to HR practices
  4. Strong communication at all levels
  5. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
