Overview

HTN is seeking an eager and dedicated Apprentice Pastry Chef to join the team with Tuga Pastries. This position is for the PM shift, available 3:30pm to 11:30pm. The team is fun, tight-knit and passionate about creating exceptional quality pastries. This role offers a nationally recognised certification that can take you around the world.

What's involved

As an Apprentice Pastry Chef, you will learn alongside qualified Pastry Chefs in all aspects of food preparation and presentation in a commercial kitchen environment. You will be working at one of our host venues, handling large quantities of food and a variety of seasonal ingredients. Key activities include:

  • Assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, creams, fillings and glazes
  • Baking and finishing — assisting in baking cakes, pastries, breads and other baked goods
  • Operate kitchen equipment
  • Learn different knife and cooking techniques
  • Clean, maintain and store kitchen equipment

Must be able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays if required.

Eligibility and Wages

Award wages apply. To be eligible for an apprenticeship in NSW you must be one of the following: Australian Citizenship; Australian Permanent Residency; New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months.
