Global Head of Portfolio Solutions Operations, Managing Director (onsite)

Reporting directly to the SVP - Global Head of Markets Operations, this position leads Portfolio Solutions Operations and oversees teams across Sydney, Boston, India, UK and Poland, with offices in Sydney, London and Boston where applicable.

Markets Operations Business lines include Client Onboarding and Data Maintenance for all products and Operational support for Financing Solutions (including Agency lending, Secured Finance, Prime Services), Foreign Exchange, Collateral, Treasury, Portfolio Solutions (including Broker Dealer support, Transition Management, Partnered Trading, Currency Management), Regulatory Reporting, Business Optimization and Product teams.

We are looking for an industry leader with hands-on experience in Operational and Regional Management in a Markets business. The individual should have a thorough understanding of how a banking operations team is run, with knowledge of allied functions upstream and downstream and how they fit into the larger operating environment of the bank. The candidate should be highly energetic, exhibit executive presence, strong communication, stakeholder management and be adept at conflict resolution and influencing others. This role requires primarily in-office work with some flex opportunities.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Support the Portfolio Solutions business across Sales Trading, Partnered Trading and Transition Management, including trade booking and settlement of equity and fixed income transactions across global markets.
• Lead product expansion initiatives and establish operating models to support the business.
• Oversee Portfolio Solutions Markets IT activities using global staff and/or budget.
• Assist in management of regulatory, reputational, and operational risk events.
• Oversee ~30 FTEs across 6 locations, driving staff engagement and retention.
• Oversee third-party vendor support ensuring adherence to Statements of Work and risk management.

• Initiate strategic projects to evolve the operating model and future vision of the function.
• Manage budget, headcount and strategic investment.
• Drive the implementation of operations strategy and new operating model.
• Build or adopt best practices and tools for optimal resource utilization.
• Stay informed on regulatory and market changes and ensure adherence without impacting service standards.
• Partner with ERM and compliance to ensure discipline in resiliency, control assurance, etc.
• Ensure quality incident write-ups, effective remedial actions, and timely incident reporting in ICAMS.
• Oversee vendor oversight and hold them to high delivery standards.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• 20 years of Banking Operations experience in a large multi-national bank.
• Experience in regulatory reporting is a plus. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong risk management and control focus.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts between stakeholders.
• Focus on identifying risks, enhancing controls, and driving innovation.
