What You Will Bring To The Role
- Fully registered psychologist with a Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or some other recognised clinical area in psychology that the employer deems relevant to the functions of the position. The postgraduate qualifications must be of no less than two years full time duration (or part-time equivalent) and include professional clinical coursework, clinical training and supervised placement experience as core components
- Substantial postgraduate clinical experience and demonstrated specialist knowledge and skills in child and adolescent mental health, including knowledge and experience of a range of evidence-based psychotherapies.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care formulation to inform tailored mental health care planning, assessment and intervention
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills for working with family systems and ability to work therapeutically with families to improve health outcomes for children and young people.
- Demonstrated understanding of childhood trauma, child protection and other psychosocial challenges, as they relate to child and youth mental health
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including case formulation, care planning, diagnostic assessment reports, and effective time management skills, and ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and knowledge of and experience with quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Current Driver's License and willingness to use for work purposes.
