NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary teams take a collaborative approach to mental health care and work with patients to tailor care to their needs.

You will join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) team to deliver compassionate, community-based mental health support for young people, with a focus on individual needs across family, school and community contexts. You will lead evidence-based therapeutic interventions, strengthen emotional resilience, and support families to improve outcomes for children and adolescents.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Fully registered psychologist with a Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or other recognised clinical area relevant to the functions of the position (postgraduate qualifications must be no less than two years full-time, including professional clinical coursework, clinical training and supervised placement).
• Substantial postgraduate clinical experience with specialist knowledge and skills in child and adolescent mental health, including evidence-based psychotherapies.
• Ability to engage in psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care formulation to inform tailored mental health care planning, assessment and intervention.
• Knowledge and skills for working with family systems and therapeutically with families to improve outcomes for children and young people.
• Understanding of childhood trauma, child protection, and other psychosocial challenges in child and youth mental health.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills, including case formulation, care planning, diagnostic assessment reports, and time management, with ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to professional development and knowledge of quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purposes.
