Rabobank's Financial Restructuring team, part of the Line 2 Risk Management division, seeks an experienced professional to join as a Senior Relationship Manager. Reporting to the Head of Financial Restructuring, you will be part of a highly engaged team.
This role involves managing & working out solutions for Wholesale & Country Banking clients across Australia experiencing financial difficulties or default. You will handle complex situations requiring strategic thinking, resilience, and negotiation skills, including financial restructures or leading legal recovery processes, focusing on delivering effective solutions.
Top Role Accountabilities:- Developing restructuring/recovery strategies with clients & Account Managers
- Reviewing client documentation, including Banking Code of Practice correspondence
- Managing workout stages like Farm Debt Mediation, asset sales & debt reduction
- Liaising with external parties such as lawyers & insolvency professionals
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to update on problem loans
- Preparing reviews & applications with transaction teams and providing credit decisions
- Creating key reports for management, Utrecht, Credit Committees, and provisioning
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a financial institution or insolvency practice
- Experience in problem management & insolvency procedures in complex environments
- Knowledge of insolvency procedures, recovery proceedings, & problem loan management
- Understanding of legislative obligations (e.g., FDMA), industry codes (e.g., BCOP), & TCF concepts
- Experience in Rural/Agricultural or Middle Market / Corporate Commercial lending is highly regarded
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully
