This crucial role will support our site operations team, with a specific focus on warehouse and logistics activities, as well as the safe operation of plant and equipment. Reporting to the Onshore Project HSE Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing a positive safety environment across our project sites.

If you have a strong background in HSE within warehousing and logistics environments, coupled with practical experience managing the safety aspects of plant and equipment, this is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant contribution to a dynamic organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE plans, procedures, and systems relevant to warehousing, logistics, and the use of plant and equipment.
  • Conducting targeted risk assessments and inspections of warehouse areas, loading/unloading zones, and plant and equipment.
  • Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment, including adherence to pre-start checks, maintenance schedules, and operator competencies.
  • Investigating incidents and near misses related to warehousing, logistics, and plant/equipment, and developing effective preventative actions.
  • Delivering specialized HSE training and inductions related to warehouse safety, manual handling, forklift operation, and the safe use of various plant and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate HSE records and preparing reports with a focus on warehouse and equipment-related metrics.
  • Collaborating with management and logistics teams to integrate HSE considerations into all aspects of warehouse management, transportation, and equipment utilisation.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and regulations, as well as the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) requirements, particularly as they relate to the movement of goods and operation of heavy vehicles and equipment.
  • Supporting the wider organisation on contractor and sub-contractor pre-qualification and management, reviewing contractor and sub-contractor documentation and leading daily HSE interactions

What we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in an HSE advisory role with a strong emphasis on warehousing, logistics, and the safe management of plant and equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of WHS legislation and regulations in New South Wales, with specific knowledge related to warehouse safety, manual handling, and plant/equipment operation.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of NHVR requirements relevant to the transportation of goods and the use of heavy vehicles and equipment on site.
  • Practical experience reviewing contractor and sub-contractor training in an operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safe work procedures for warehousing, logistics, and various types of plant and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with warehouse and site personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, particularly in identifying and mitigating hazards associated with warehouse operations and equipment use.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement in warehouse and equipment safety.
  • Specific experience related to mobile plant and equipment, forklift operations, rigging, or other relevant plant and equipment operations would be highly advantageous

Qualification we're looking for:
  • Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g., minimum of a Diploma in Work Health and Safety or higher, internationally recognised qualifications such as NEBOSH, ProQual etc. are welcomed).
  • ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 internal or lead auditors qualification.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or internationally recognised equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license.

We offer you an international working environment with an open and inclusive company culture. In addition, you can expect flexible working models, sustainable development opportunities and various offers for the compatibility of family and career as well as health and well-being. The offer is subject to satisfactory medical and police clearance.
