Overview

Westpac's largest-ever digital transformation program – UNITE – is redefining how banking works for millions of Australians. We are delivering customer-centric, mobile-first solutions within the Digital Banking team. This role focuses on automation testing for mobile and web platforms, building and maintaining automated test scripts defined by manual testers within agile delivery squads.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end automation test suites across mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications
  • Use tools such as Appium (Kotlin/Java) and Selenium (C#/Java) to automate functional and regression testing
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo or Jenkins
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and quality across releases
  • Execute and troubleshoot API tests using Postman, Charles Proxy, and BURP
  • Report issues clearly, follow up on resolutions, and support high-quality customer experiences
  • Own and scale automation aligned to defined test cases (manual testing is handled by a separate team)
What you need
  • Deep expertise in mobile app automation (Appium, TestNG) and web automation (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin)
  • Strong programming skills in Kotlin and/or Java, with working knowledge of C#
  • Solid experience with test management tools (JIRA, X-Ray) and code versioning (Git)
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and an understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A self-starter attitude, collaborative mindset, and clear communication style
