Propulsion Technician

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity explores the stars is more exciting than one without. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional and organized work area, including tools, valves, tubes, and manifolds for advanced subassemblies.
- Staging, building, testing, installing, and proofing of production subassemblies for Starship/Super-Heavy.
- Verify fluids and electrical connections using diagrams for propulsion systems.
- Perform testing and operate equipment for pressurized checkouts, using computer networks and following test procedures.
- Accept or reject test units based on criteria, document findings, and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues.
- Follow procedures, specifications, and test instructions accurately.
- Set up and operate CNC bending machines and tube cutting equipment, conforming to tight tolerances.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Possession of A&P license or ASE Master certification is highly desirable.
- More than 5 years of mechanical or related experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of fluid systems, pressure, temperature, and flow measurement devices; mechanical and electrical systems; propulsion systems.
- Strong problem-solving, mathematical, computer, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team, meet deadlines, and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand for at least 8 hours.
- Capability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
