The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Australia's leading public healthcare providers. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Cardiac Perioperative Nurse to join The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Within The Royal Melbourne Hospital our Surgery, Perioperative, Trauma and Surgical Oncology Services team operate busy theatres that provide a high quality 24/7 service in our 15 operating rooms. Perioperative Services incorporate 4 main locations, Main Theatre, CSSD, 3 East/23 hour and 3 West Day Procedure. The Main Operating Suite has 16 theatres with a further 3 in 3 West. The Operating Suites are staffed with skilled nurses (both scrub-Scout and Anaesthetic/Recovery) which is supported with the Post Graduate Perioperative Program.

This position offers an excellent career opportunity for a registered nurse with cardiac perioperative experience who has a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality patient care and education. Working within our supportive team, this position will allow the successful candidate to further develop his/her skills and to contribute to the ongoing advancement of our growing and dynamic service.

About You
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing And Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Commitment to high quality patient care - Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct
  • Preference for a minimum of 5 year's experience as a cardiac perioperative nurse
