Overview

Plant Operator – Construction with Wingecarribee Shire Council. Multiple positions available. Hours: 38 hours per week with a rostered day off every fortnight (9-day fortnight). Attractive salary: 65,281.84 - 75,868.52 per annum plus 12% superannuation. Applications close: 22 September 2025.

What You8ll Do

As a Plant Operator – Construction, report to the Team Leader Construction and be directly involved in the construction and rehabilitation of Council's road network and other civil assets. Operate medium to large plant and machinery and assist in a range of manual labouring and skilled tasks under supervision. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet project deadlines and service standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Council's safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and service standards.
  • Contribute to a positive WHS culture and safe work environment.
  • Use sound judgment and initiative to assist in resolving day-to-day site issues.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in construction and/or maintenance (roads and drainage) operating medium to large plant and machinery relevant to the field, including trucks, rollers, excavators and graders, and manual labouring.
  • Proven ability to follow instructions within a team environment and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications and operate devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities and scheduling-based systems.
  • Ability to communicate with key stakeholders about operational and maintenance services.
  • Hold and maintain MR Drivers Licence, with Ticket/Competency to operate Excavator, Grader or Backhoe, and WHS Induction Card.
Other Requirements
  • Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement.
  • Willing to participate in on-call roster and overtime (where applicable).
