Overview

Join to apply for the Dental Assistant Grade 1-2 role at Far West Local Health District.

Location: Broken Hill, NSW.

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support and assist dental clinicians in the provision of oral health services to patients.
  • Undertake administrative and reception duties – filing, maintaining electronic patient database, appointment scheduling, wait list management, stock maintenance and ordering.
  • Assist in the delivery of oral health promotion activities.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent work experience. Dental Assisting Certificate IV required for appointment at Grade 2.
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or demonstrated capacity and commitment to work toward achieving this qualification.
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate well to adults, children and other health professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in infection control, instrument reprocessing and dental assisting.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan own work, manage priorities, use initiative and problem solve.
  • Effective computer skills for communication and use of dental patient administration and management systems (e.g., Titanium). Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Class C drivers licence with the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.

How To Apply

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent work experience. Dental Assisting Certificate IV required for appointment at Grade 2.
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or commitment to achieve this qualification.
