What's the role?

We are looking for an experiencedDiesel Fitterto join the Northwest Qube team for our Pilbara Port operations. The primary role of the Diesel Fitter is to undertake fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of Front-End Loaders, Excavators, LV fleet and other port equipment safely and efficiently. A suitable candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work under pressure and independently.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Suitable Trade Qualification or Certification
  • Air-Conditioning Ticket – highly regarded, but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated working experience with heavy vehicles & heavy machinery
  • National Police Clearance (within 6 months validity) – or ability to obtain one
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Must have prior experience in ports, heavy transport or mining environments
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment, with a proactive approach to task resolution to maintain a high quality of work
  • Strong analytical thinker with an ability to make concise and compelling decisions
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of work completed
  • Have a positive attitude
