Senior Tax Manager / Accounting Director – Multi-Family Office

Our client is a leading Melbourne-based multi-family office that partners with high-net-worth families to deliver sophisticated financial and accounting services. With offices across Australia, the U.S., and India, they provide a fully integrated suite of services including wealth management, tax advisory, estate planning, and deal advisory. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to protect and grow generational wealth through personalised and strategic advice.

They are now seeking a Senior Tax Manager / Accounting Director to join their Melbourne team. This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the chance to oversee a high-performing accounting function, work directly with ultra-affluent clients, and collaborate with international teams.

Public Practice Accounting experience is essential.

Will accept applications from Senior accountants or Junior level Managers as well.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage end-to-end accounting processes for a portfolio of high-net-worth family clients, ensuring compliance with Australian and international reporting standards.
  • Review and oversee preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory filings, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver strategic advice on tax planning, asset structuring, and wealth preservation, tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Partner with investment, legal, and estate planning teams to deliver holistic financial solutions.
  • Mentor and manage a team of accountants, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and professional excellence.
  • Drive improvements in processes, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and client outcomes.
About You:
  • CA/CPA qualified, with extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong background in managing complex financial affairs for high-net-worth individuals or family offices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian taxation and an understanding of international tax considerations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of developing and empowering teams.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and solutions-focused.
