Senior Tax Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead our accounting team and provide technical leadership in tax planning, structuring, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong time management and leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Xero and Xero Practice Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting team, coordinating jobs, reviewing and approving tax returns prepared by the team, and managing work-in-progress, completion, and turnaround times. You will also be required to adhere to systems and processes to achieve revenue targets, coach, develop, and train team members, lead the annual tax planning process, and oversee ATO and ASIC matters.

  • Manage the Accounting Team: Lead a talented team of accountants and ensure they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Develop and implement tax planning strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Review and Approve Tax Returns: Ensure accurate and compliant tax returns are submitted on behalf of clients.
  • Manage Work-Flow: Streamline processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead the Annual Tax Planning Process: Develop and implement tax planning strategies that minimize tax liabilities and maximize business value.
