About Us

KIVARI is a Sydney-based fashion brand founded in 2014, known for the ultimate trifecta of style, strength and confidence. All of our products are designed by our talented team in Australia, crafted with sustainability in mind and materials sourced from across the world. Our timeless designs are inspired by a passion for travel and a deep connection to the ocean. For us, community comes first, we are committed to quality always and fostering a warm environment where creativity thrives and we provide the opportunity for you to evolve with us as our brand grows across the globe.

About the Role

As our Senior Designer, you'll be at the heart of KIVARI's creative journey – helping bring to life four ready-to-wear collections each year that speak to our love of timeless design, effortless style, and the strength of the women who wear them.

From sourcing globally inspired fabrications to curating mood boards and refining each fit, you'll contribute to the full design process – from first spark to final stitch. You'll support the Head of Design with the end-to-end design process with intuition and intention - researching seasonal trends, refining trims and fabrications, and creating collections that feel both elevated and grounded in who we are.

This is a key role within our team, where your eye for trends, understanding of the KIVARI woman, and collaborative spirit will see you working closely with our Planning, Product Development, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure every collection tells a story - and tells it beautifully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research global trends, market insights, colour palettes, and competitor activity
  • Support Head Designer with developing and presenting seasonal mood boards, range direction, and fabric stories
  • Design cohesive, innovative collections aligned with pricing and margin targets
  • Attend fittings for assigned categories, finalise toiles, and ensure high-quality execution
  • Create and maintain detailed style packs, technical sketches, and CADs
  • Work closely with Product Developers to ensure accurate communication and handover
  • Uphold design integrity from concept through to production, resolving issues as they arise
  • Mentor and inspire junior team members, fostering a collaborative and creative design culture
  • Align all designs with KIVARI's sustainability values and brand identity
  • Participate in SWOT reviews and PSR meetings; use sell-through data to inform future collections
  • Maintain strong communication across all internal teams and external suppliers
About You
  • 5+ years' experience in a senior design role within women's fashion
  • Proficiency in cross functional woven, cut sew and denim required
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and team development
  • Clear thinking and organisational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, and technical design
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Passionate about product, storytelling, and creating purposeful collections
  • A natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment
What We Offer
  • A creative, collaborative environment: Join a team that values innovation and teamwork, where your contributions will help shape the future of our brand.
  • Growth opportunities: KIVARI is a rapidly growing brand, and we are committed to helping you develop your skills and progress in your career.
  • Work-life balance: Regular hours working from our Freshwater office, close to the beach.
  • Sustainability commitment: Play a role in shaping designs that reflect our commitment to sustainability, creating a positive impact on both our community and the environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package including a generous clothing allowance.
Why KIVARI

At KIVARI, we believe in Community First, Quality Always, Embracing the Journey, and Always Evolving. You'll be part of a passionate and supportive team in our beautiful Freshwater Head Office, working in a brand that's growing and full of opportunity.
