We are excited to announce that we have a full time opening as a Housing Admin Officer in our Community Housing Development team. The Housing Service team manages 85 properties; the majority of which are head leased from the Department of Communities. Housing Service incorporates the Independent Living Program, which accommodates 221 tenants with severe and persistent mental health. Additionally, Housing Services partners with a range of other organisations to provide sustainable housing options to people with a range of complex needs.

This role plays a key part in helping our Community Housing Development team move towards an efficient, effective, person-centred service by managing the housing related administration tasks associated with Community Housing.

Successful candidates will bring:

  • A flexible and adaptive approach to work, able to prioritise a busy workload with key deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a central first point of contact for team members, tenants, Uniting programs and service providers to report property maintenance.
  • Regular monitoring of the Housing Maintenance email to ensure maintenance requests are logged in a timely manner and queries responded to promptly.
  • Logging of property maintenance requests ensuring that preferred contractors, priority of maintenance and program requirements are considered.
  • Forging relationships with maintenance contractors and tenants to assist in the delivery of an efficient and reactive maintenance service.
  • Proactively provide administrative support to the team to work towards enhanced engagement with tenants.

Successful candidates will also need to meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within a similar role or field.
  • Experience in working with people living with mental illness in a community setting.
  • Knowledge or experience of Community Housing.
  • Have undertaken or be prepared to undertake Mental Health First Aid training.
  • You must be able to obtain a current National Police Clearance. It is also essential to have a current WA 'C class' driver's licence.
