Overview

Join the Property Underwriter role at IAG. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a large portfolio of brokers with a strong focus on building relationships.
  • Design, develop, and implement tailored underwriting solutions for ISR property risks.
  • Determine acceptability, conditions, and pricing of risks, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.
  • Mentor and provide technical support to less experienced underwriters.
  • Contribute to achieving insurance margin, growth, and retention targets.
Work arrangement

This is a full-time permanent role based in Naarm (Melbourne). It offers a hybrid work environment and requires availability within core business hours (Monday to Friday).

About You
  • Proven experience with at least 5 years in ISR and/or Property Underwriting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of brokers, focusing on building strong relationships.
  • Skilled in developing successful working relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Highly proactive, thriving in both independent and collaborative work settings.
  • Analytical, with a strong grasp of risk management principles and effective risk analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring alignment with guidelines and protocols.
