Join Emesent as an intermediate-level Embedded Systems Engineer and help us to create the next generation of high performance products powered by our world‑class LiDAR SLAM and autonomy. In working with experts in industrial design, mechanics, electronics, and firmware, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop products that improve customer insights, safety and efficiency across a diverse range of industries.


Here's What You'll Do
  • Conduct design, integration, and validation of electronics and firmware
  • Produce clear, well-tested code and PCB layouts that others can extend
  • Develop user-space applications and ROS drivers for sensors on ARM-based Linux platforms
  • Consider industry best practices, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout development
  • Create and run verification test plans, analyse data and confirm requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in standards, tooling, and automation
  • Translate product requirements into concrete technical specs, tasks, and schedules
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, failure mode analysis, mitigating issues early
  • Support junior engineers in developing best practices and foster knowledge sharing
  • Report progress through Jira boards, stand-ups, and concise stakeholder updates
  • Champion a blameless culture focused on solving the right problems and committing to team decisions
How You'll Succeed
  • 3–5 years experience shipping embedded products
  • Degree in embedded systems, electronics, mechatronics or similar
  • Strong grasp of digital and mixed‑signal design, PCB layout and bring‑up
  • Proficiency with C/C++ plus familiarity with Python
  • Bonus: exposure to robotics, LiDAR, SLAM or autonomous systems
