We support national delivery programs involving classified ICT systems, accreditation readiness, and technical assurance across complex environments.

The Role

We're seeking a Lead Mainframe Natural Programmer to guide the enhancement and maintenance of legacy applications built on Natural and ADABAS within IBM z/OS environments.

This Sydney-based role is part of a nationally significant uplift program for a regulatory platform. You'll lead a team of developers, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and compliant software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of Natural/ADABAS applications on IBM z/OS.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews for junior programmers.
• Design and optimise batch and online programs, integrating with job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
• Collaborate with DBAs and system architects to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Oversee debugging, performance tuning, and production support.
• Ensure adherence to change management, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Experience in Natural programming in mainframe environments.
• Strong expertise in ADABAS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and legacy system architecture.
• Experience with Software AGs NaturalONE (SPoD) or similar IDEs.
• Proven leadership in managing development teams and delivering complex projects.
• Familiarity with COBOL or VSAM is a plus.
• Australian Citizenship with Baseline clearance.
