We support national delivery programs involving classified ICT systems, accreditation readiness, and technical assurance across complex environments.

The Role

We're seeking experienced Mainframe Natural Programmers to support and enhance legacy applications developed using Natural and ADABAS on IBM z/OS systems. These Sydney-based roles are part of a long-term uplift program for a national regulatory platform.

You'll work within a collaborative team to maintain system functionality, implement enhancements, and ensure the stability and performance of mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Natural/ADABAS applications on IBM z/OS.
• Analyse business requirements and implement functional software solutions.
• Modify and create JCL scripts and integrate with job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
• Collaborate with DBAs and system architects to optimise performance and ensure data integrity.
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, and participate in system testing and UAT.
• Provide production support and resolve application issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow change management processes.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Experience programming in Natural in a mainframe (z/OS) environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ADABAS, JCL, and TSO/ISPF.
• Familiarity with Software AGs NaturalONE (SPoD) or similar development environments.
• Experience with batch jobs, reporting systems, and online transaction processing.
• Proficiency in debugging and performance tuning of legacy applications.
• Experience with COBOL or VSAM is a plus.
• Australian Citizenship with Baseline clearance.
