Overview

State Manager Home Assessing NSW role at Auto & General Australia. Provide direction, support, training, and coaching to ensure accountability and development of Home Assessing team members to support planned business performance.

Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for the On-road Assessing Team and Desktop Assessing Team
  • Act as the key department liaison for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to vet and procure supplier services with governance, compliance and contractual frameworks; attend interstate as required
  • Lead and develop capability through team meetings with Direct Report(s) to create a highly engaged, technically strong, customer-focused Home Assessing team (home and office-based Desktop Assessing)
  • Coach, mentor, and support Direct Report(s) to ensure the team's performance meets or exceeds KPIs and service standards, including internal processes, WH&S regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements
  • Act as escalation point in complex negotiations and disputes, working with the Claims Management Team
  • Implement and oversee WH&S regulatory frameworks to manage risks
  • Monitor, manage, and audit supplier performance to meet procurement protocols and contractual/best-practice standards, delivering cost and service outcomes
  • Identify and report key trends within the Home Assessing team and external practices that could affect Auto & General
  • Collaborate across the end-to-end Home value chain to ensure controls align with business objectives
  • Lead the Home Assessing Team through Change Programs
  • Maintain strong knowledge of market developments in the Building Repair industry, regulatory requirements, company processes, systems, products, and brands
What Experience You'll Bring
  • Extensive senior leadership experience with at least 5 years leading teams
  • Minimum 5 years' experience and strong knowledge of the Home Assessing, Building Repair and Restoration environment and related practices
  • Experience leading a team of professionals and contributing to business results
  • Strong commercial acumen and capability in developing and executing strategic programs
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills for negotiating outcomes with customers and industry professionals
  • Strong written communication skills, including report writing
