Senior Social Media & Content Advisor – Country Fire Authority (CFA)

Location: CFA HQ Burwood East | Full Time | Fixed Term to 10 October 2026

About The Role

Make a real impact by leading CFA's digital voice and connecting communities before, during and after emergencies. CFA operates in a complex environment where community trust, reputation and awareness are critical to achieving our vision. Our Media Unit develops and delivers strategies to guide how CFA engages with Victorians through the media.

You will lead CFA's social media strategy and drive innovative approaches to grow and strengthen our digital channels. You will facilitate two-way digital engagement with the Victorian community and CFA members before, during and after emergencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support CFA's role in providing critical community information at a state level.
  • Enhance trust in CFA as a respected emergency service organisation.
  • Contribute to building resilience across Victorian communities.

You will also identify and create opportunities to showcase the contributions and achievements of CFA staff and volunteers, ensuring their stories are shared widely and meaningfully across our digital platforms.

About You

You are a skilled digital communications professional with tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) and a strong track record in managing social media and online engagement channels. You can advise and influence senior leaders, develop strategies to shape positive public sentiment and create engaging digital content including video, graphics and written stories.

With a keen understanding of current and emerging communications technologies, you bring creativity, strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, building strong relationships across teams, stakeholders and the wider community to help CFA connect with Victorians effectively.
