We're recruiting on behalf of a national infrastructure services provider delivering critical operations across government and Defence-related programs. They're looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate engineering activities on-site in Darwin.

This is a leadership-focused role, ideal for someone with a solid technical background and strong project management skills, capable of guiding engineering delivery, managing subcontractors, and supporting infrastructure operations in a complex, high-compliance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities supporting operations and minor works
  • Oversee the scoping, design review, and delivery of engineering projects
  • Manage subcontractor engagement, project schedules, and quality outcomes
  • Conduct site-based investigations and coordinate technical problem-solving
  • Contribute to planning, reporting, and performance tracking
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors
  • Act as the technical lead on-site, supporting operational continuity and compliance

Qualifications And Experience
  • Tertiary qualified in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical or similar)
  • Experience in engineering delivery, with leadership/project management exposure
  • Experience working in infrastructure, Defence, oil & gas, or complex asset environments
  • Strong project management, contractor management, and stakeholder skills
  • Ability to work in a site-based role and lead initiatives autonomously
  • Australian citizenship (for security clearance requirements)
  • Willing to relocate to Darwin - relocation support available
