The opportunity

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 Case Management Support Officer to help support the Legal Operations Team in providing intake, processing, triage and allocation support across the Administrative Review Tribunal branch.

These will be a 12-month initial contract with the strong likelihood of extension, offering APS5 hourly rates of $55.24 + Super. This role can be based out of either Richmond or Geelong, expecting 2 days WFH / 3 on site.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing and assessing ART Applications received by the Agency.
  • Creating and updating records and filing supporting documentation in business systems.
  • Preparing comprehensive ART case summaries to support matter management and allocation to ART case managers.
  • Preparing and filing Tribunal documents as required for ART applications within statutory time frames.
  • Providing support for interlocutory applications and instructing internal lawyers to resolve or progress them.
  • Assessing and responding to risk from processes, including in terms of privacy considerations and priority.
  • Researching and drafting responses for complaints, Ministerial and other documents as required.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of new starters

About you

  • Prior experience within dispute resolutions or legal environments highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the NDIS and its involvement in supporting Australians.
  • Strong communicator and comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Prior Paralegal experience or legal studies highly advantageous.
  • Australian Citizenship
