Business Insights Lead

Job Description: The Business Insights Lead is pivotal in transforming data into a strategic asset for the organisation. This role leads the Periscope project, delivering analytics and insights to empower data-driven decision-making at every level. By aligning business intelligence initiatives with core strategic objectives, the lead ensures reporting and dashboards provide clarity to drive business growth, enhance operational transparency, and improve performance. A key focus is surfacing actionable insights from complex data and identifying data quality issues, influencing key financial metrics such as billability, revenue, and gross margin.

The successful candidate will hold end-to-end responsibility for the BI project lifecycle, from initial scoping and prioritisation through to execution and delivery of measurable outcomes. This involves translating organisational goals into an impactful BI roadmap and leading the Periscope team to bring that vision to life. A critical aspect is acting as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and the BI team, building trusted relationships to ensure analytical outputs are relevant, understood, and effectively actioned. The position champions a culture of evidence-based decision-making, driving transparency and accountability by delivering insights the business can rely on. Throughout these responsibilities, the BI Lead operates with the strategic guidance and support of the Business Operations Lead.

• The BI Lead is responsible for the end-to-end BI project lifecycle, including scoping, prioritisation, execution, and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Translate organisational goals into a BI roadmap and lead the Periscope team to realise that vision.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the BI team to ensure outputs are relevant, understood, and actionable.
• Surface actionable insights from data and address data quality issues to support business metrics and decision-making.
• Promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making, transparency, and accountability across the organisation.

Core Analytics & Delivery Experience

• Proven end-to-end delivery of BI and analytics initiatives from requirements through deployment and UAT.
• Strong understanding of key commercial drivers in a professional services or technology environment, including revenue, gross margin, cost, and utilisation.
• Experience leading or coordinating technical teams, preferably within an Agile or hybrid delivery framework.

Strategic & Business Acumen

• Ability to partner with senior stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into a clear delivery roadmap.
• Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset to identify analytics opportunities for business improvement and innovation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities to make data-informed recommendations.

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

• Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills; able to build trusted relationships at all levels.
• A natural ability to influence outcomes without direct authority, collaborating across functions.
• Highly organised and capable of operating in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to transparency and accountability.
