Overview

Field Research Photographer, CoStar – Newcastle. CoStar Group is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. This role supports the company's field research efforts to build an in-depth understanding of the Commercial Real Estate in a designated territory.

Responsibilities
  • Drive or walk assigned submarkets within core territories to collect imagery and updates, including identifying new availability, missing inventory, updated construction status, and high-resolution images where required.
  • Cross-reference new leads with current CoStar database information by researching sales and lease comparable data.
  • Collect building data and contact information on properties and send to the in-house Research team when information is new.
  • Photograph and collect building attribute data and contact information for all commercial properties with for-lease and for-sale signs across the assigned territory.
  • While at target properties, collect visible data fields such as address, building type, number of stories, gross building area, building height, industrial loading information, and retail details.
  • Use Adobe software for post-processing digital images and create footprint and rooftop geocodes using field mapping software; associate tenant locations to polygons and photograph tenant spaces.
  • Follow daily Field Research procedures, log project timings accurately, and communicate workflow and daily production with your manager.
  • Upload data and images promptly as directed; photograph and collect data for at least 10 buildings per day and aim for a minimum of 16 new potential listings per day during lead projects.
  • Visually scan commercial properties in the assigned submarket while driving or walking; communicate professionally with property managers and customers via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain safety standards, company equipment, and vehicles (if provided); represent CoStar professionally at all times and participate in monthly conference calls with sales and research teams.
  • Occasionally represent Field Research at trade functions.
Qualifications
  • Technical proficiency in digital photography and post-processing using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
  • Degree with a significant photography component.
  • Willingness to travel across the country on field-related projects.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications.
  • Existing portfolio of exterior and interior property imagery.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; flexible and able to adapt to new processes quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with daily support via phone and email; learn commercial real estate terminology and mapping software.
  • Ability to work autonomously and follow CoStar protocols; comfortable working alone with daily supervision by phone and email.
  • Current and valid driver's license; satisfactory completion of a Driving Record/Driving Abstract check prior to start.
